What THEY say
Over the past three years, Nauticus has accomplished many significant milestones. The stewardship of the Battleship Wisconsin was transferred from the U.S. Navy. Captain Richard Phillips of the Maersk Alabama was recognized with the first-ever National Maritime Valor Award. We hosted an inaugural Wisconsin Ball and opened a new theater to honor Airport Commissioner Robert Taylor and family. None of these accomplishments would have been as successful without the creative leadership of Maverick Marketing.
I’m confident Maverick Marketing’s advertising, marketing and public relations expertise is unparalleled. In addition to these services, the firm has also served another vital role for our organization. At our request, Maverick has taken a very active, integral part in the creative process. For example, as our cruise ship program seeks support from the Commonwealth of Virginia to grow this vital tourism component, Maverick initiated a “Cruise Virginia” concept. This unique approach has not only been embraced by the Virginia Tourism Corporation and Governor McDonnell’s office, it was recently lauded as an innovative port strategy by Carnival Cruise Lines and Royal Caribbean. I strongly believe this initiative will be impactful as these cruise lines look at future deployment options. Maverick has spearheaded similar campaigns for other areas of our organization, including membership, sales, marketing and exhibits.
Please let this letter serve as my enthusiastic support of Maverick Marketing.

I have truly enjoyed working with you and Deb and look forward to future projects. You are truly a gifted professional, incredibly creative, and very cool under pressure. I very much appreciate and admire how you do whatever it takes to get the job done. The National Maritime Valor Award program is one of the finest events to which I have ever been associated and I am truly grateful for your leadership in making it a reality.
All the Best,

Pam Catindig of Maverick Marketing Advertising and Public Relations served as the "Innovation Champion" for Pilot Media, where she led our innovation council, managed out ideation process stream and vetted new business opportunities. As one of my direct reports, I had a first-hand opportunity to see her in action and feel very confident recommending her services. I found Pam to be creative, hard working and effective.
I counted it a loss for our organization when Pam left us to begin her own agency. Happily, she has gone on to build a successful company. For the last two years Maverick Marketing Advertising and Public Relations has won the coveted,"Best Ad Agency" category in The Virginian-Pilot's annual "Best of" competition and has developed a long list of satisfied clientele. I wish her continued success.

I had the opportunity to work with Maverick Marketing Advertising and Public Relations to produce an ad for the back of a Senior publication. Their design netted three times the response I hoped to receive. In fact, I've run in this particular publication before with absolutely no response. I largely attribute the exponential difference to Maverick's great copywriting and compelling graphics. I have access to many in-house marketing resources, yet regret I don't have more opportunity to work with Maverick Marketing. They are the best!

This is a letter of recommendation for Deb Colvin and her company Maverick Marketing. I have known Deb for about 20 years. We worked together at the Virginian-Pilot for most of that time. At the Pilot, Deb was the creative mind behind some of the most effective marketing campaigns the company has run.
Deb Consistently conceived and designed extremely successful marketing campaigns for both The Virginian Pilot itself and for it's key advertising customers. I believe Deb was the most creative marketer in the company. More recently, since leaving The Pilot, Deb and her team produced a very effective marketing campaign for Nauticus which I witnessed first hand as a Nauticus board member.
As a result of the work I have seen deb complete, I have no hesitation enthusiastically recommending her and her firm for any marketing challenge you need addressed.
